Here's how it works

You can use this tool for your personal or professional life. You can apply it to yourself only or look at how teams or entire organisations spend their time. It’s designed to be very simple, intuitive and more human-centric than just comparing input cost with output value.

The idea is to think about your activities along two dimensions: How valuable are they for what you want to achieve? And how much do you enjoy spending time on them?

πŸ’Š Pills

Valuable, but kinda suck

Is there a way to make you enjoy them more? If not: Try to reduce the time you have to spend on them without compromising on value, maybe delegate or outsource them.

⭐ Stars

Valuable and spark joy

Make sure you protect them. Can you make them even more central to what you do? And ask yourself: What you can learn from those that might help you make some Darlings more valuable and some Pills more enjoyable?

πŸͺ« Drains

Suck and aren't valuable

Check for blind spots: Are you missing something? If not: Stop doing these as soon as you can.

❀️‍πŸ”₯ Darlings

Fun, but not very valuable

Can you make them more valuable? If not: Enjoy them, keep them as an energy boost, but be careful not to prioritise them over the pills.
